Built-in cherry cabinetry create a wonderful sideboard area for dining.

The limestone faced fireplace is an energy efficient "Rumford" design that throws a high percentage of its heat into the Great Room rather than out the flue. Sir Benjamin Thompson, Count Rumford, began studying fireplaces in the early 1800's. Typical fireplaces were very smoky and failed to perform the function for which they were built—to properly and efficiently heat the room. He studied the dynamics of heat, and designed a fireplace that today remains the most efficient, powerful, and aesthetically-pleasing of all fireplaces.
