High Performance Green Building

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful and committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it's the only thing that ever has."
- Margaret Mead, anthropologist, 1958

"High performance green building" is the most appropriate term now being used to convey a comprehensive approach to minimal environmental impact construction practices and is the approach we employ in our work.

The US Green Building Councils' "LEED" standard embodies this method, which simultaneously integrates solutions across a broad spectrum of specific environmental concerns, and sets extensive performance standards.

In practical terms, this translates for us into utilizing site sensitive development practices, thermal efficiency in building design & construction, efficient use of the lowest impact construction materials, and the creation of healthy interior living environments.

At Hammond Fine Homes, we have developed our capacity in these practices through training and 25 years of experience - we believe that the future overall health of our children, our families, our communities, our clients and the health of the living ecosystems on which all life depends will be best served through the use of high performance green building practices.
